Three Peaks Cyclocross

7 October 2019

The 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross is staged in the Yorkshire Dales National Park every year at the end of September. It is the toughest and biggest Cyclo-Cross event in the UK and, for a number of years, has been supported by members of the 1st Castleberg Scout Group.

The jobs cover two days, just a couple of hours each time. Saturday involves collecting cones from Horton, distributing some there and taking the rest to Helwith Bridge and putting them out, along with road barriers, ready for final positioning the following day. Also, as shown in the photo, marking the course up Ingleborough. At the close of the event on Sunday afternoon, the whole process is reversed, with additional jobs which include collecting the course signs and a litter pick.

As in the past, a welcome donation of £750 was received, and, with a request to do it again next year, obviously, a good job was done!
