Inspiring News from the Sections

6 November 2020

It’s really encouraging to hear that over half of the Ingleborough sections have now had Covid Risk Assessments successfully approved so that they can meet face to face with small numbers of youth members when the current lockdown finishes.

Simon Shaw, Settle Cub Leader, reports that their last half term has been a busy one, getting used to meeting on Zoom rather than in the Drill Hall! All who have taken part have had fun braille code breaking, learning about Guide Dogs and making mug cakes. Having finished for half term with a pumpkin carving session, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, he is very grateful to all the parents for supporting the Pack whilst restarting via Zoom!

The Settle Beaver leadership team has also organised some exciting Zoom sessions for their Beavers, and Explorers have continued with their very successful online meetings, too. In addition, Settle Scouts are receiving twice weekly emails from Dan Nelson, their troop leader, with exciting practical challenges to keep them active and Zoom meetings about to start during the lockdown. Ingleton Cubs now have met once face to face and Scouts and Explorers are busily planning for the next half term, too, so all is looking good for our young people.

Thank you section leaders, you are doing a great job!
