Ingleton Cubs Visit their Library

31 May 2019

Following in the footsteps of the Beavers, Ingleton Cubs visited the library to tick off some of the criteria for the Digital Maker badge. Using the Raspberry pi-TopCEED desktop computers provided by North Yorkshire Libraries, they created animations using Scratch, a visual programming tool.

The Cubs also logged onto the main PCs to produce illustrated book reviews using desktop publishing software. Several youngsters joined the library for the first time, taking books home to read. It’s hoped that, by introducing these youngsters to the wide range of library facilities at an early age, they will remain as borrowers into adult life.
