All Night Challenge

3 December 2019

On 16th November, National Hiking Day, over thirty Scouts, Explorers and their leaders rose to the challenge of walking an 8.5 mile route overnight, navigating totally in the dark and all returning safely in the small hours of the morning to Mealbank Hall in Ingleton for a well-earned breakfast. Huge thanks go to the dedicated adult volunteers who organised the event, led the teams, provided backup and kept everyone safe! Without their support, the event could not have gone ahead. The youngsters coped superbly with the damp weather, strenuous activity, difficult terrain and lack of sleep; they will remember the adventure for many months to come. What better way to gain skills for life – well done to everyone who took part!
