WE ARE VICTIMS OF OUR OWN SUCCESS!

Why do we need your help?
Colonies, Packs and Troops in Ingleborough District frequently have long waiting lists but with additional adult help more youngsters could join in the fun!

Have you any skills you could share with young people, maybe just once or twice a month? Could you help the adults involved in Scouting with paperwork, fund raising, activities or looking after equipment?

Who can help?
We recruit from all ages, walks of life and family circumstances. Please consider if you have any time to give to young people in your community.

What will I get out of it?
You'll find it very rewarding and enjoyable; you'll learn skills and make lots of new friends. Modular training customized to your needs is available and your Group usually pays for any uniform, if this is required. Your hours of service can be flexible to meet your availability and level of commitment so why not give it a go?

How can I help?
Take out a warrant as a Leader or Commissioner. Assist on a regular or occasional basis at Beaver, Cub, Scout or Explorer Meetings. Collect and crush aluminium cans from bins in Ingleton & transport to Lancaster. Take on the role of a District or Group Quartermaster. Act as a District Postman on a monthly basis. Set up and operate a second hand Scout uniform 'shop'. Act as a badge tester for various skills e.g. First Aider, Librarian, Cook etc. Fund raise for the District through events such as a cake stall, coffee mornings, treasure hunts, sponsorship etc. Act a PR or Media Manager to publicise Scouting in Ingleborough District. Help with District or Group events such as checkpoint marshal for a hike, transport co-ordinator for a camp, serve refreshments for St. George’s Day Parade or at camps. Join District or Group Executive Committees as a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer or Fund Raiser etc.
