Inspiring
Young People
Our youngsters could not have all this fun and excitement without the dedication
of the Leaders who give a lot of time to provide the programme of activities.
In order to do it they need a lot of non-uniformed adult support.
There is a continuing programme of recruitment for: -
Leaders and Section Assistants ~ who can make the necessary commitment
Helpers ~ who can help regularly or who are willing to join a rota
Supporters ~ who can help with individual events or activities (e.g. checkpoints
on a hike; refreshments at a Scout event.)
Administrators ~ committee members, secretaries, treasurers, quartermasters,
fund raisers, etc.
The Scout Fellowship ~ to provide organizational and social activities
for all the Leaders and supporters.
All offers of help at Group or District level will be gratefully received.

The
welfare of young people
The Scout Association has a legal and moral duty
to take care of its young people. Adults in Scouting have the responsibility
to protect youngsters from harm and the Association has a clear policy
to safeguard all its members. This is outlined in the 'Young
People First'
code of good practice, which is issued to all adults.
In addition,
all adults who have access to young people have to complete a Criminal
Records Bureau check to ensure that they are fit and proper persons to
work with young people. Members of Groups and District Executive Committees
are also governed by the Charity Commission rules for trustees. |
